When you buy a brand new car, the manufacturer attached Car Warranty that will last for certain period of time. The period of car warranty vary among different cars and usually depends on the manufacturer and the model of the car as well. Commonly, Auto Warranty lasts for 1 year, 3 years, 5 years and there are also manufacturers that give 10 years of warranty for some car model. The manufacturers give the car warranty to guarantee that the car was made with great attention to details and the quality is not a subject to doubts. In case something wrong happen with the car, he manufacturer will repair the damage free of charge. Car warranty has its own terms and conditions. Some damages are covered and some others are not. That is why it is very important for you to learn and know exactly about the terms and conditions of your auto warranty so that you can claim the damage included. When the warranty period expires, you have to pay for the damage by yourself, it is no longer covered by the manufacturer.

At this point, if you feel like you need another protection for your car in case you have to deal with unexpected damage with unexpected cost of repair,  you get an Extended Car Warranty. The extended car warranty is basically the same with insurance for your car. It is a service contract in which the company that provides the service agree to pay for the covered repairs for certain period of time. So it is essentially getting a car warranty that is extended but nor from the manufacturer, but from an extended auto warranty company. However, you still have to remember that not everything in your car is the subject to the extended car warranty. Items such as tires, brake pads and belts are normally not covered, so it is still very important for you to take care of your car well.
